Shopping Arcade

A number of slip accidents had occurred in this Victorian shopping arcade. The decorative Victorian floor finish had become polished through many years of heavy foot traffic and in wet conditions the surface had become extremely slippery.

In 2003, the entire surface of 400 M2 was thoroughly cleaned and degreased to remove all surface contamination. A clear, invisible non slip treatment was then applied to the total area in one day when the arcade was closed. This substantially increased the wet slip resistance of the surface and ensured a much safer environment for shoppers in wet weather conditions.
