Vending Machine Area

The Vinyl floor covering in the vending machine area of a large call centre was causing health & safety concerns in connection with slip incidents due to the spillage of drinks. The smooth surface had little wet slip resistance but as the floor covering was not old and in an extremely busy area replacement was out of the question.

In 2008 a clear non slip floor treatment was applied during the night to avoid any disruption to the area. This increased the wet slip resistance to 45 SRV without any alteration to the surface appearance of the vinyl. Drinks in the vending machines were also unaffected due to the solvent free nature of this treatment.
