Anti Slip Wooden Decking

This large area of timber decking was constructed in 2008 as part of a big refurbishment to this hotel and restaurant. Shortly after completion, numerous slip accidents were reported as customers used the decking as access to the main reception. The client needed an answer but insisted that the appearance of the decking could not be changed.

A clear, hard wearing, non slip resin incorporating a quartz anti-slip particle was applied to the entire 180 M2 of decking area during a quiet period but the hotel was able to use the decking the same day. The timber appearance was only slightly altered and the slip resistance was dramatically improved. The hotel has reported no further slip accidents since completion.
