Shopping Mall

The operations manager of this large shopping mall in Yorkshire identified through risk assessments the potential for slip accidents in a number of areas throughout the mall. Main Entrances to the mall and entrance steps from parking areas were considered high risk areas due to transfer of external moisture.

In 2008, all areas were treated with a moisture reactive, invisible non slip treatment, applied to the Terrazzo during the evening when the mall had closed. In addition, the polished porcelain tiles to the gents toilets were also treated. The wet slip resistance of all areas has now been improved to acceptable standards reducing the potential for future slip accidents.
