Leisure Centre Cafeteria

These beautiful polished and natural finish porcelain tiles in the cafeteria area of a large city centre leisure centre failed the councils slip test in wet conditions. The facilities manager needed a solution but was adamant that the appearance of the tiles and the shine should not be altered.

In 2005 the entire area was treated with an invisible moisture reactive non slip treatment without any alteration to the visual appearance or polished finish of the tiles. The wet slip resistance was increased from 22 to 36 and the floor area passed the next slip test.
