Quarry Tiles Within Sugar Manufacture

This well known British Sugar Factory in York had a health & safety problem concerning the quarry tiles in a main production area. The quarry tiles were extremely slippery when wet and were a safety issue to all operatives entering the area. The chief engineer wanted a solution with minimal down time or disruption to production.

In 2005 a non slip safety surfacing treatment was applied to 250 M2 of these tiles. The wet slip resistance was increased from 21 SRV to 45 SRV with no loss of down time or disruption to the production of sugar.
