Concrete Car Park Steps

These painted concrete steps to a very busy town centre multi storey car park were both slippery and in urgent need of visual upgrade to bring them in line with DDA regulations. The step treads had little slip resistance as the existing paint had worn smooth due to heavy foot traffic. The step nosings were not DDA compliant as they had no highlights.

In 2006 eight flights of steps including landings were fully refurbished with a non slip high build solvent free resin system. This incorporated an anti-slip quartz aggregate that gave a wet slip resistance of 65 SRV. All step nosings were also treated with a contrasting DDA compliant non slip system. To date the steps are still in perfect order with no slips reported.
