To be fully DDA compliant under the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995 all steps to public buildings must now have the step edge and nosing highlighted in a contrasting colour to aid access by partially sighted people. It is vitally important that the step highlight system has good wet slip resistance and does not create a trip hazard.
